The Joy of Shopping!

Today I took my children shopping. It was exciting, they have been saving their allowance since Christmas and it was burning holes in their little pockets!

As we walked around the store we discussed the different ways the could spend their money. I enjoyed watching how different they were in their thought processes. My little man had his heart set on a pillow pet. That is, until he found a “Cars” bean bag chair! That was it, love at first sight. Only problem was as we walked through the store he could find tons of things to add to the list. His lesson today was once your money is spent that is the end until next time. He does not regret his chair though, he sits in it quite proudly.

My daughter had also gone originally with the idea of another pillow pet. However when she saw these pillow birds, and discovered that she would have money left over for more things, well that was it! We then went to the dollar store in our neighbor hood to spend the last of her money. She found serving trays for tea parties with her friends, along with a necklace and rings that any 5 year old would go goo-goo over. Oh and lets not forget the hand held mirror we can use to prepare for those tea parties.
Her lesson was if you go for the smaller thing sometimes there is more to choose from.

Oh to be a kid again! And the joys of watching them grow!
